Aung San Suu Kyi’s charisma, education in Britain and years of resistance against the military lead to win 1991 Nobel peace award. With the enormous supports of the international community she was released from house arrest. In 2015 her party, National league for democracy won nationwide election. Now she is the de facto leader, state counsellor and foreign minister of a land which suffered decades of military oppression. The international community expected improvements in human rights including for all minorities as a return for their years of hard work including spending big fortune for her release and later her/she to become the ruling leader of Burma. Tragically, Aung San Su Kyi is collaborating hand in hand with the military which holds 25% of Myanmar parliamentary seats in Myanmar.
Emerging graphic images and videos of her military selectively targeting Rohingya civilians since 9.10.2016 attacks qualify to be labelled as” ethnic cleansing” if the word “Genocide” is consciously avoided with the sole purpose of blocking any intervention.
160,000 Rohingya are slipping into forced starvation due to the persisting blockage of Aids. Nearly 21,000 Rohingya refugees have now arrived in Bangladesh border bringing stories of rape, extrajudicial killings and torching entire villages.
Malaysia sensed the danger of becoming whole ASEAN region destabilised as a result of the ongoing atrocities against the Rohigya Muslims. Prime Minister Najib Razak did not hesitate to use strong word” Genocide“, sending strong message to Aung San Suu Kyi that ”enough is enough”. It even cancelled two football matches against Myanmar as a protest.
Many great MPs around the world are waking up to recent Su Kyi’s stigma. Canadian MP, Garnett Genius, was seen recently raising the concern of going ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya and urges his government to break it’s silence.
Her government intends to continue blocking aids for another 2-3 months as stated by the
Myanmar ‘s Spokesperson. Instead of cleaning the mess in Arakan, Suu Kyi’s government continued to target pro- Rohingya journalists and activists inside Burma. Now, her government is terrorising activist outside like Dr.Haikal Mansoor,a Rohingya, for exposing her deadly BELLY LAUGHS ON THE PLIGHTS ROHINGYA during her visit to Singapore.
“Burma is for only the military and the elite .There is no place for minority and no place for muslims. The world must realise awarding a Noble PEACE prize is not a guarantee that the Laurette will continue to carry its duty with genuine sincerity.
Suu Kyi’s government continued blanket denials on ongoing crimes against humanity are revealing her true identity that the world was wrong about her. Despite of mounting international pressure, Aung San Suu Kyi is determined to prove herself nothing but as a ruthless politician.
The world will not remember what good Aung San Suu Kyi has brought to Burma but her indifference towards stopping the ongoing Rohingya Genocide.
