– Police opened fire twice onto upwards air and fined 180,000kyats to a villager for shouting at night in Oo Shin Kya village under Maung daw

A villager from Oo Shin Kya village tract informed on the condition of anonymity that the police group who are provisionally staying in Oo Shin Kya village since one month opened fire two bullets onto the upwards air while Bashir Ahmed was shouting for someone to help him as his hayrick caught fire yesterday (25 NOV 2013) night at around 9:00pm.
By the way Bashir Ahmed son of Gawnu Meah from Oo Shin Kya village tract under Maung daw district was working in his paddy field while his hayrick caught fire unfortunately. He was scared and shouting for someone to help him to put out fire. But the police group were staying half kilometer far away from his field. So Bashir Ahmed screaming sound reached to polices’ ears and they rushed to the spot at once supposing that there came robbers in the village.
After police had reached to the spot and they could see nothing but only fire on Bashir Ahmed’s hayrick. Then the police arrested to him and fined 180,000kyats for shouting at night and to be released. The villager also said that the police are frequently harassing to the villagers since they appeared in the village.
Besides they are also extorting money from the villagers by different ways. Now it became very challenging for the villagers to move around and live in the village , he added
