WFP provide rice, CARE provide fertilizer to villagers at Maungdaw

Maungdaw, Arakan State: World food Program (WFP) provided rice to the Natala ( Rakhine) villagers and the Co-operative for American Relief Everywhere (CARE) provided fertilizer to the Rohingya villagers of Maungdaw north yesterday, said  a villager  preferring not to be named.



“WFP provided 40 bags (per bag 50kg rice) of rice to the Aung Min Gala Natala (Rakhine) village of Maungdaw north under the Maung Nama village tract of Maungdaw Township yesterday.  But, the WFP did not provide rice to the Rohingya villagers.”
“Besides, CARE provided 40 to 20 bags of Fertilizer to the three villages of Maung Nama village tract under Maungdaw Township. The CARE has some projects in the villages of Maung Nama village tract”.
Rohingya villagers have been starving since June this year.  They want rice and other foods from NGOs and other donors, but the villagers did not get any item from any quarter. But, so called Rakhine refugees got reliefs from many NGOs and government, said a local youth who denied to be named.
U Thein Sein’s security forces don’t allow Rohingyas buying anything such as- rice, medicine, vegetables and other commodities for survival keeping them in their villages. His government’s intention is to kill Rohingya Muslims by keeping them starve and drive out of the country with the co-operation of local Buddhist Rakhines, according to a local leader.
