Rohingya dead body found in Maundaw south

Maungdaw, Arakan State: A Rohingya Muslim dead body was found in Maungdaw south by Rohingya villagers today, in th morning, said a villager from Maungdaw.

“The dead body was found in a stream of Kila Dong (Du Chee Yar Tan) by villagers while it was floating.”

The dead body was identified as— Salim, son of Anfru, hailed from Kila Dong village tract (Du Chee Yar Tan) of Maungdaw Township.
According to sources, on September 16, Salim went to the stream to collect some vegetables and green leaves for selling it at the local market.  But he did return home on that day.

As a result, some of the relatives of the victim and some villagers together went to the forest to find him, but they didn’t get any information of him. However, today morning, villagers found the dead body in the stream.

Rohingya villagers believe that he was killed by the Natala villagers (Mogh) of Kila Dong because he was slaughtered, said a close relative of the dead body on condition of anonymity.

He was a poor man and also a daily laborer. His family members will face many difficulties in future because he was the only one bread earner for his family, the relative more added.

However, an officer of Nasaka personnel (Burma border security force) from Kila Dong Nasaka out-post went to the spot to see the dead body and gave permission to bury the dead body at a local cemetery.

A village elder told the Kaladanpress that many Rohingya Muslims had been killed by the Moghs and security forces since June. But, no action was taken against the culprits by the concerned authorities.

A Rohingya youth said,” There is no life security of Rohingya people in northern Arakan.”
